Alfred Nott Optometrists is a family owned Optometry practice providing eyecare since 1896, with our Wheelers Hill practice a part of the local community since 1989, and in our current location in the Wheelers Hill Business Centre since 2008.
Our Principal, Alan Greenhill, has been in practice for over 45 years and uses his vast experience to provide the best eyecare possible. We pride ourselves on providing personalised, high level vision care to each and every patient that comes through our door. Our staff have been with us for many years, ensuring you are provided with a comprehensive and thorough eye examination. We utilise the latest knowledge and technology and have extensive experience in the management of eye disease, children's vision, contact lenses, sports vision and occupational health and safety.
Our independence has allowed us to be innovative and keep our services up to date with the latest in eye health. For example, the first contact lenses in Australia were fitted in this practice by Ernst Goetz in 1926. Being an independent practice enables us to customise our care to each patient and ensure their individual needs are met.
Wheelers Hill has a strong local community filled with a great variety of people from all walks of life. We see people from all walks of life, with so many of them having fascinating stories to tell. We see schoolchildren, families, professional and business people, sports men and women, elderly; we never know who will next come through our door and what we may learn.
Alfred Nott Optometrists collect preloved glasses on behalf of the Wheelers Hill Lions Club for further use in third world countries where eyecare is almost non-existent. We donate items such as glasses and sunglasses to local schools and community groups for raffles to assist with fund raising.
