We wanted the freedom to recommend the best for your eyes and ensure continuity of care with our optometrists over time. It was also important to us to build relationships with local families in our community.

Stewart McConnell
As a teenager, I walked out wearing contact lenses for the first time and was so happy that I decided that being an Optometrist and giving people that feeling was what I wanted to do. When I'm not practicing I enjoy looking after my young son, keeping fit, playing sport, and watching AFL.
Peter Lewis
My father, who was a brilliant Optometrist inspired me to follow in his footsteps and become an optometrist, and I've now been practising for over 40 years. I head over to Timor twice a year to help those who need eyecare, and to help set up a teaching program.
Giving back
Optometrist Peter Lewis has been a regular visitor to Timor as a volunteer since 2004. Besides providing eyecare to the community there, he has assisted in establishing the infrastructure that has allowed the training of East Timorese health workers who then go on to provide eye care to their local community. Peter has been rewarded with an OAM for his services and volunteer work. We also make monthly donation to Optometry Giving Sight and are proud sponsors of local bowling and baseball clubs.
