Our highly skilled friendly professional staff aim to enhance your view of the world and its view of you. Beckenham Optometrist is a locally owned independent business supporting the community, dedicated to friendly professional service, clinical excellence, and tailoring eyecare and eyewear to your needs. We have been operating since 1999 and we're excited to move to a beautiful new premise in 2016.

Our independence allows us to base clinical decisions in your best interest, treating all customers just as we would like our family treated. We can offer a broad range of interesting frames and lens options and offer a full optometric service. We take our customers through the process from the eye examination to producing spectacles or fitting contact lenses, customising solutions to individual needs. Also, we are available late night on Thursdays by appointment only.

I chose optometry as it is a great helping profession. Vision is such an important sense and when things aren't right it can significantly impact quality of life and I can improve that. I love spending time with family and friends - walking, at the beach, out sailing or a little away from Avalon - on the ski slopes.
Valerie Norman
I have been practising optometry for 32 years. My decision to become an optometrist was influenced by my family of short sighted people. I had frequent eye examinations as a child, wearing glasses from 6 years old and contact lenses at 16.
Giving back
We are directly involved in providing eye examinations in indigenous communities through the Brien Holden Vision Foundation flying with The Royal Flying Doctors to rural and remote NSW communities. Locally we are involved in sponsorship of local community groups and schools. And globally in fundraising for Optometry Giving Sight and the Fred Hollows Foundation.
