Our practice has been proudly serving the local community for nearly 20 years. Owned and operated by woman, Brays Optique (formerly Maria Norris Optometrist) has earned the affectionate nickname "the girls" of Concord. We have come to know and value our customers as family and take pride in the fact that loyal customers will always see a familiar face when visiting our practice.

Our decision to be independent was made for the benefit of both our practice and our patients. It allows us to choose how we engage with our customers; the time spent in a consultation and the products we offer. For you, our customers, this translates to being treated as an individual.

Maria Norris
An Honours graduate of UNSW’s Optometry program with over 30 years experience in independent optometry, Maria practices a broad scope of optometry and has a special interest in ocular disease and therapeutics, having completed her postgraduate Ocular Therapeutics qualification in 2017. She is also a member of the Contact Lens Society of Australia.
Maria practiced in both Australia and the UK in busy metropolitan optometry and ophthalmology practices before ‘settling’ in Concord in 2013.
“As an independent practice owner, I love that I’m able to offer my patients ‘the complete package’ – high quality clinical care, great vision and fabulous fashion eyewear.”
Maria loves Italian language and culture and in the distant past, she enjoyed a twirl around the ballroom dance floor. These days, it’s the less frenetic pursuits of a good film or book or a new theatre production.

Brays Optique values being part of the local community and so we are happy to assist local schools and charities. Over the years we have given out hundreds of gift vouchers and it's always a pleasure to meet the lucky winner.
