Central Park Optical, previously known as Chris McDonald Optometrist, was opened in 1985 and has been servicing the local area for the last 30 years. We are an independent practice dedicated to providing the best eyecare and eyewear choices to people of all ages, in a friendly and welcoming environment.

We are nestled in the heart of East Malvern with views of beautiful Central Park opposite. Our practice is easily accessible, with parking and a tram stop right at our front door. We service a diverse range of patients with a number of local schools, young families and retirees.

Emma Mary Laverty
Having graduated from Melbourne University in 1992, I began my career in rural Victoria, and went on to work with independent optometrists in Melbourne and Adelaide. I am passionate about children's vision, contact lenses and optometry as a whole, and am proud to now be co-owner of our beautiful practice together with Gill.
Christopher McDonald
Graduating from Melbourne University in 1976, I opened my own practice in East Malvern almost 10 years later. I proudly still practice there 30 years down the track. Looking for a lifestyle change, I sold the practice to Emma and Gill and I continue to service the local community 3 days a week.
