Cooper and Lourie Family Optometrists are an entirely family run multi-generational business, with branches in Nedlands and Innaloo. Our motto is 'clear and comfortable vision from people who care' and that is exactly what we do, care! As a family we have a passion for providing exceptional care and customer service to our patients. You'll benefit from a team of four optometrists with over 125 years' combined clinical expertise, and from our continued investment in the most advanced eye care technology. We also ensure you have access to the best lenses in the market so you have the best vision possible, and provide additional services including Ortho-K (overnight vision correction) and Intense Pulse Light (IPL) therapy for Dry Eye management. We decided to set up our own independent practice because we wanted to make a difference in peoples live. It allows us to provide the widest range of lenses, contact lenses and spectacle frames, as well as invest in the latest technologies to provide cutting edge treatments such as Ortho K and the E-Eye dry eye IPL as well as the best diagnostic services in Optics such as OCT scanning. Most importantly, it allows us to spend more time with you so that we can answer all of your questions and concerns and tailor management to your individual needs. We want to find out about you, your lifestyle, needs and concerns in order to create a lasting relationship.

Our local areas of Innaloo and Nedlands are all about community. Whether we have members from the local tennis club coming down to have a chat and get their glasses repaired or making a donation to our local primary school's trivia night to help them raise some money, everyone knows us as their local optometrist!

Dr. Julie Lourie
From a very young age I wanted to be in a profession where I could really make a difference and help people. As I love talking to and meeting people from all walks of life, Optometry was a great path to achieving this. I also love keeping active by playing tennis and golf, as well as going for long walks with my pug Mila.
Dr. Geoff Cooper
My father was an Optometrist and I grew up spending time helping in his practice. I admired the way he really cared about his patients and the respect he earned from his work. It's a career where you get to know lots of people and are able to help them and after 40 years, I still enjoy that immensely. Outside of eyes, I love to play tennis and golf, as well as playing guitar and drums.
Dr. Lauren Curd
Lauren grew up in Auckland and graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Optometry with Honours in 2018. Shortly after graduation, she made the move across the ditch to sunny Perth. Lauren is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist, allowing her to prescribe ophthalmic medications to treat acute eye diseases. She is passionate about making a difference in people's lives by providing high quality, individualised eye care. Lauren enjoys seeing patients of all ages and has a strong interest in myopia management. Outside of work, you can find Lauren swimming at the beach or exploring new eateries around Perth.
Dr. Xenia Gonzalez
Xenia graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 2007 with an Honours degree in Optometry. She has honed her skills in all aspects of optometry working in metro and rural locations across Australia but came to Perth for a work trip and never left! Xenia is endorsed to prescribe ophthalmic medications allowing her to look after and treat acute eye disease. While she enjoys the puzzle of optometry, Xenia has particular interests in myopia management, dry eye management and contact lenses, especially complex fittings such as orthokeratology. Her mantra is to supply all her patients with thorough comprehensive eye care. Outside of optometry, Xenia can be found on the soccer field or scuba diving along the west coast.
Dr. Annabel Fothergill
Annabel completed her optometry training at the Queensland University of Technology in 2013. Tempted by sunsets over the ocean, she then set off on a road trip across to Perth and hasn’t left since. Annabel is interested in all aspects of optometry, particularly myopia control and contact lens fitting. She is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist, able to prescribe medications to treat a range of eye conditions. Annabel stays up to date with the latest in eye health including detection and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. In her spare time, Annabel enjoys spending time at the beach, seeing live music and hunting down the best bakeries around town.
Giving back
Cooper and Lourie Family Optometrists support many charities such as Optometry Giving Sight, Guide Dogs Australia and Royal Life Saving Australia. We donate old prescription glasses through the Rotary club as well as provide fund raising vouchers for our local schools and community groups.
