What we love about Manuka?
We love the warmth of the wonderful and unique community in Manuka. Being away from the shopping malls enables us to offer our patients a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and provides us with a peaceful environment to work in. Manuka also has some of the best cafes and restaurants in Canberra so coming to us from near or far is a lovely experience. Most of our patients are local residents or people who work in the area but we also have those who come to us from all over Canberra and rural NSW. Our furthest patients live in Texas and Abu Dhabi!

I became an Optometrist over 20 years ago because I wanted to help people achieve their best vision. I was prescribed my first pair of glasses at the age of four so I have had a lifetime of experiencing the challenges that poor vision can bring. In my spare time, I love cycling around Lake Burley Griffin with my family and enjoying everything else that our beautiful city has to offer.
Giving back
At Eyecentric, we donate all proceeds from minor repairs and adjustments of glasses to Optometry Giving Sight. This is our way of contributing to those that are less fortunate than we are. In Australia, we all have access to quality eye care and eyewear but this is not the case in many countries. The money we raise goes towards the cost of training optometrists in places such as Tanzania, where people travel hundreds of kilometres to receive basic eye care.
