At Casterton, our great staff together with our Optometrists provide a warm and professional experience. Our computers integrate with our Hamilton records so we can access previous records of eye tests, photos, OCT scans and visual field results. This makes our testing of your eyes and ordering of your glasses, efficient and accurate. Our 5m long consulting room is spacious and non-threatening and allows room to do eye exercises when they are needed. Our second consulting room allows immediate photos of the retina to be taken to help with diagnosis.
Our independence gives us the flexibility to take the time with each patient and tailor each eye examination to their individual needs. We also have the freedom to choose from a wide range of quality eyewear and eyecare solutions including the latest optical equipment.
It is a beautiful part of Victoria and we host lots of vibrant shops and coffee spots. The community spirit in Casterton is very strong and it is great to be part of it. The response to opening a practice in Casterton has been really positive and other business owners have a positive vibe for the future of Casterton.
I love to help people with their vision so they perform better and feel more confident in their daily life. Outside of work I enjoy all kinds of sports, anything from running marathons to hiking and snowboarding.
I am fascinated by vision science and have a strong interest in primary health. This has fuelled my interest in Paediatric eye health because clear and comfortable vision is crucial for learning. Outside of work I try to get out for hikes around the Grampians on weekends, and also enjoy rock climbing, both outdoors and in gyms.
At Glenn Howell Optometrist, we are very involved in our local and global communities. Dr. Glenn has been treasurer of the local Rotary Club for many years and has a position on the board of Southern Grampians Adult Education. He also travels to villages in Fiji, Tonga and Tanzania to provide much needed eye care to the locals. Dr. Chris also provides assistance overseas in rural communities in South Africa providing eye examinations on-board the Phelophepa Health train. Our practice manager, Jo, has been treasurer of the Hamilton Eisteddfod for the last 5 years, has been President, Vice President and a committee member of the local Business Association and is an inaugural member of the Hamilton Inner Wheel club, a spin off from Rotary. Finally, Jordan, our Optical Dispenser, has started the Crocodiles basketball team to encourage more people in the community to get active.
