We decided to become an independently owned practice to give us the flexibility to provide the services and products we feel are best for you. We are very proud to provide outstanding clinical care, comprehensive eye examinations and an extensive frame and lens range to suit everyones eyewear needs. Of course, we are also proud of our team that provide outstanding customer service and have been recognised for their talents.

I always had an interest in health services and after completing work experience I was hooked on Optometry. I am passionate about the people, the science and solving problems to make people's lives better.
Clarissa Sheehan
Clarissa has been with Gulf & Ranges Optometrists since 2014 when she started as an Optical Dispenser. The combination of local and clinical knowledge means Clarissa understands her patient’s needs and enjoys helping them achieve the best vision possible.
Demi O’Brien
Demi has been with us as an optical assistant and then as a University Optometry Student. With a rural background, Demi wanted to work in the country and chose Gulf & Ranges Optometrists to launch her new career.
Giving back
As a small business owner in a rural area, we believe that it’s vital to give back to our community. To maintain quality health services in Port Augusta, Gulf & Ranges Optometrists have offered scholarships to students completing the Health Science Course at University. Students receive financial support and are required to come back to the region to work in their field for 2-3 years. Over the last 10 years we have also provided cash prizes to Year 12 students at three local secondary schools who have shown high achievement in Science subjects. We also strongly support a holistic, healthy lifestyle and were the naming sponsor of the Pichi Richi Marathon and the Little Athletics Country Carnival.
