Hampton Eyecare, optometrist in Hampton, previously known as Guttridge, Douglas & Wells Optometrists, has been operating in the local community since 1951. We pride ourselves on looking after the eye care need of our local community and providing a comprehensive eye examination to each individual that walks through our door.

We are proudly independent as we feel it allows us to provide professional and relevant advice on eye health and vision to our patients. It also gives us the freedom to offer a complete range of optical and therapeutic solutions, without compromise.

Hampton has a lovely village feel and our practice is only a block from the beach. We have a lovely group of loyal patients and we love seeing their friendly faces.

Ian Gutteridge
I always felt drawn to helping people with their visual problems and have extended my passion for Optometry into teaching the next generation of Optometrists. Outside of work I have always been a keen sportsman. Golf is a long term passion, cycling is for fitness and I was introduced to skiing in my 50s.
Ian Douglas
Optometry allows me to interact with people of all ages and enables me to help my patients achieve their best visual outcome. After hours, I have a passion for woodwork, designing and building furniture from Australian hard woods. I also collect and restore classic cars from the 80s.
Matthew Wells
I always wanted to work in health sciences, where I could interact face-to-face with people and help them. I am very pleased with my career choice, and am in it for the long haul! After work, I love watching my beloved Carlton footy team and playing golf when I get the chance.
Katrina Koenig
I've been an optometrist for twelve years now. I have always had an interest in healthcare - optometry in particular. I love being able to help people achieve great quality vision so that they can enjoy all aspects of their lives. In my spare time, I enjoy soaring through the air on the flying trapeze.
Giving back
Hampton Eyecare is heavily involved in teaching the next generation of Optometrists. We also have a strong link with the Australian College of Optometry, and several of our Optometrists work at their clinic part time, providing eye care to the disadvantaged.
