We value our independence and the freedom to prioritise our patients eye health. We are able to dedicate the necessary time to each patient in order to be able to manage their ranging health requirements.

Rachel Chipere
I chose to become an optometrist as I wanted to make a difference in people's lives whilst maintaining a good work-life balance. I particularly enjoy the challenges that working in a rural community brings. It is a real privilege to meet new patients each day and develop a rapport with them over time. It is especially rewarding to be able to help them with their ocular needs. I have been practicing Optometry for 2 years now and I definitely chose the right career for me. In my spare time, I'm either at the gym, spending time outdoors or trying new restaurants with my husband.
Leah Meulendijks
Leah brings a wealth of knowledge from her time working in Central Victoria. She has vast experience co-managing with the local Ophthalmologists many ocular diseases such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy to name a few.
Leah is a member of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists.
Leah also spent two and half years being mentored by a Behavioural Optometrist in Bendigo and while she hasn't taken on the role of Behavioural Optometry, has extensive knowledge in the field and can recommend the best referrals if necessary to any child having trouble at school.
Leah was born in Cohuna which is in Northern Victoria and was raised in a small town called Pyramid Hill, only 30 minutes from where she was born. Aside from her time spent studying Optometry at the University of Melbourne, Leah has always lived in the country where she prefers to be. She has a great love of horses and a passion for Optometry which makes the Yarra Valley the ideal home for her and she now resides in Yellingbo.
Giving back
Leongatha Optometrists support local clubs, schools and charities any chance we get. We also donate old spectacles left to us by our patients to the Lions Club which then goes to third world countries to help the less fortunate.
