Our practice has been a part of the lovely Maffra community for 27 years and counting, and we thoroughly enjoy working with like-minded people. Our town has one of the most picturesque main streets in Victoria and is located within reach of the 90-mile beach and high country. Our country lifestyle is second to none ... no traffic lights!

John Cronin
I always wanted to help better peoples lives. I've been an optometrist for 33 years now and enjoy the challenges of improving peoples vision. Having the opportunity to meet the wider community on a regular basis has seen them become more than just clients - they are also our friends. In my spare time, I enjoy woodwork activities, as well as camping and exploring the Australian outback. I also volunteer at local kindergartens conducting vision screenings.
Sumit Shevade
After studying Visual Neuro Science and completing my undergraduate degree, I decided on optometry as my profession as I enjoyed it the most. I've been practising optometry for 3 years. When I'm not at work, I enjoy badminton, new dining experiences, hiking and travelling (both near or far). I am also an active volunteer for both optometry and non-optometry disciplines and used to teach English in Cambodia.

I always knew I wanted to work within Healthcare. My decision was made easier with gentle persuasion from John as I had been under his Optometrical Care since the age of 3. In my spare time, I am found helping out on my parent's farm, volunteering locally in the canteen for the Maffra Football & Netball Club or sitting down enjoying a large cup of tea.
Giving back
We are very involved with the Vanuatu Eye Project and well engaged with the Eyes 4 Everest project in Nepal. At a local level, we contribute to the agricultural show, as well as our football and cricket club; and often support our local schools and kindergartens with their fundraising ventures.
