Tamborine Mountain Optometrists was established in 1999 as a family owned and run practice that prides itself on excellence in eye care. We aim to build lifelong relationships with our patients and we take the time to discuss and solve your individual visual needs. We use the latest technology in equipment, spectacle lenses, frames and contact lenses and we have enthusiastic, experienced staff who love nothing more than to discuss new and established ways to help you achieve healthy vision for life.

What we love about North Tamborine?
In the Tamborine region, there is a real sense of belonging to a small community in which everyone looks out for each other. We moved here for the business in 2006, and I couldn't think of a place I'd rather live and bring up my family.

Nicky Carr
I come from a long line of optometrists including my Aunty and Uncle, my Grandad and my Great-Grandad! My Mum also worked at Optometry Australia for 21 years. It must be in my blood because 15 years after graduating from university, I still love it! Outside of optometry, it's all about family time, enjoying the outdoors and having a good coffee at the amazing coffee shops we're lucky to have on Tambourine Mountain.
Cassie Baan
Cassie joined the practice in February 2022. She was raised on Tamborine Mountain, and even born here on Esme St! Cassie completed her Bachelor of Vision Science (Distinction) and Masters of Optometry (Distinction) at QUT in Brisbane with a semester abroad in Waterloo, Canada. She has the qualification to write a prescription for eye drops and is currently studying her diploma in Auslan (Australian Sign Language).
Giving back
We do our 'Sunnies for Prep' program every year. Nicky goes to each prep class at the 3 primary schools on the Mountain to provide a talk about 'How to Look After Your Eyes', also outlined in a colouring-in poster given to each child, along with a voucher that they can bring into our practice to choose a free pair of sunglasses. We sponsor the Tamborine Mountain Netball Club, support Australia Day fundraising at the Tamborine Mountain Bowls Club, as well as donate to Optometry Giving Sight.
