Since 1992 the Eastern Shore of Hobart has been served by Total Eyecare Optometrists with our practice at the Shoreline Plaza, Howrah. We are proudly locally owned and operated by the Optometrists who work in our practices, including partners, Wesley Robertson and Andrew Maver. Total Eyecare is an amalgamation of several independent practices. Since our beginnings in 1946, independence has been valued by all our owner optometrists as it allows us to make the best clinical decisions for you. Independence allows us to choose our lens, contact lens and frame suppliers without restriction. Having access to all the best quality products for our patients is why we remain proudly independent. As fierce Tasmanians, we also contribute to our local community by employing locals and supporting our local economy.

Wesley Robertson
I have been practicing Optometry for almost 30 years and have enjoyed watching the development of digital imaging technology throughout my career. I also enjoy the fashion side of my job, helping patients find their perfect frame and staying up-to-date with the latest fashion trends in eyewear.
Andrew Maver
I have always had a strong interest in the eye and vision science. Something close to my heart is regularly volunteering as part of the East Timor Eye Program to assist with eyecare in developing nations. Outside of Optometry I enjoy kayaking, underwater hockey and spending time with my grandchildren.
Colin McKenzie
I have been practicing Optometry for over 30 years and have developed a particular interest in fitting RGP contact lenses for keratoconus, a challenging but equally rewarding expertise.
Giving back
Total Eyecare has always been supporters of the Optometry Giving Sight program, specifically in the establishment and ongoing commitment to the East Timor Eye Program. Several of our owner Optometrists travel to East Timor annually to work with locals in restoring sight to thousands of people who would otherwise go without basic eyecare. Additionally, we support multiple local causes and events throughout the year with monetary and product donations.
